Screen tearing - Asus MX279H

Hi,

I'm experiencing some screen tearing whilst gaming in various games.. Enabling VSync reduces my FPS.. Is this just the way it is or is there something else I can do?

Running and Asus MX279H in 1920 x 1080 from an MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card

You're going to get screen tearing on this monitor since it isn't G-Sync. Also, try lowering the FPS you play your games at to at least 60. You'll either need a higher refresh rate monitor, a gsync monitor, or both.

Thanks for your help, I understand now lol! Think I'll go down the new monitor route
