Dual monitor setup only one DVI port on GPU

Hi, I got two Benq xl2411z and just got an evga gtx 1070 ftw. The gpu only has one DVI port. My question is, is it better to buy a dual link DVI cable or a DispalyPort to DVI converter? Also will it add input lag?

Your Benq xl2411z has also an HDMI port too. Connect one with DVI and the other monitor with HDMI

When I plug it in with the HDMI cable, the screen stays black as if it weren't connected. Also, doesn't HDMI only go up to a refrehs rate of 60hz?

Depends on the cable. HDMI can go up to 144hz. Make sure you check HDMI as input from monitor

Go to the actual monitor settings not from Windows and make sure it is HDMI port

Yeah HDMI only goes up to 60hz so you might need to get an adapter for converting dp to dvi.

Convert dp to dvi for the first monitor. The other use dual link dvi should be fine

So, I bought a DisplayPort to dl DVI-D converter but I can only set the refresh rate to 60hz still. Also, when I create a new resolution in the Nvidia control panel the screen stays black and says "no signal detected".
