HDD Speeds jumping up and down, sometimes extremely slow speeds. (With HD Tune pic)

As of earlier today I have been experiencing weird fluctuations with my Hard Drive, it's been experiencing very slow speeds (around 5mb/s) this was fixed when I restated the computer, but now it is dropping speeds and coming back up again, I have never seen this before and im wondering what the problem may be.

Could you also post your full PC specs please. Especially RAM, where it could be using a pagefile on the hard drive. Check to see if you have an AV scan going.

Hi there Dfrer,

As there's a chance that there is something wrong with the drive, you should really back up the data stored on the drive.

After that, you can navigate to the Health tab of the tool and post a screenshot. These slopes could indicate some bad sectors.

HDD: TOSHIBA DT01ACA200 (2000gB)

I have also been checking and Avast has not been doing any scans.
