Blurry display and wrong size on TV using DisplayPort to HDMI

I bought a DisplayPort to HDMI cable to use with my TV that I am using as a second monitor. My GPU ,the RX 480, only has one HDMI port which is being used for my main display. The DP to HDMI cable leads off to an HDMI splitter that goes off to my TV. I tried without the splitter but it is still blurry and the wrong size. Using HDMI scaling in the AMD driver kind of fixes the scaling problem but the blur is still there. Is this a software problem or a problem with the cable.

Yes, the TV is 1080p and it is set to display that.
