Weird monitor display

So I just built my computer and when I turn it on and hook a hdmi cable to the gpu and the monitor a half blue and half green image pops up on the screen what do i do?

It sounds like a bad cable. Make sure the cables are fully clicked in place. You may need to try a new cable. If not, it could be a faulty monitor.

You could try connecting a different cable source, perhaps DVI or Display Port, this would help you to trouble shoot the cause.
