VLC Media Player Blurry 4K Video

Hi I'm trying to run a 4K movie on my laptop which has pretty good specifications however I try to run the movie and it gets all blurry.

I'm running on Windows 10

Specs

i7 Processor
GTX 970M
1080p Display

I've also tried disabling "Accelerated Video Output" and the same issue persists.

Any advice as to why this is happening?

All the drivers for my GPU are up to date as well.

While VLC is a swiss army knife of media players, I always found it's playback results soft. Try something like MPC-HC with MadVR where you can select your downscaling method.
