Good Morning Everyone

I know the title of this post is common but I ensure you, my case is unlike any you've heard.

I've got a 4+ year old laptop drive-over 500 GB
Toshiba

Heres what happens:
>computer starts automatic repair
>computer screen goes black (no cursor)
>computer BSOD umountabke boot disk error

What we've tried:
Externally mounting hardrive to another computer using converter-drive is discoverable but can't be explored
Gave up starting OS from disk because it lags and then hangs on a screen

Any advice would be appreciated
I am seriously reevaluating my life choices after this crash :(
Like 90% of the population I don't have the cash to send it off to a facility
But I'm aware that any other attempts will corruption it further.

Thanks
N
