I did a clean install of Windows, twice, both times having AHCI mode enabled before installing Windows 10, but the PC still boots up in IDE. Why is that and how can I fix it?

Solution
Hello DogIsGod

You can try a workaround instead.

> Once your operating system boots in IDE mode, configure your PC to start in Safe Mode on the next boot from the System Configuration box as given in the first part of this tutorial.

> During the system startup process, go to the BIOS setup page and change the mode to AHCI.

> Save the settings and exit and let Windows boot in Safe Mode.

> Disable the Safe Mode boot from the System Configuration box.

> Restart the computer.

This should allow you to boot in AHCI mode.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

I reinstalled the OS a third time and this time it worked just great. Thanks for the help nonetheless.
