Hey all,

I bought a GPU for my new build, namely the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 here.

It states that it comes with 1 x hdmi, 1 x dual link DVI (gold plated), and 3 x Display ports (gold plated).

I'm in the market to buy a couple (or three, depending on the price) monitors to create a dual monitor or triple monitor set up.

I need to know what connections I should find to make this happen.

Obviously, I can find a monitor with displayport capabilities and be fine, right?

But a lot of budget monitors don't come with display ports, what else can I look for to make this process as easy as possible on me?

Sorry for the late answer,

But yes, you would potentially need to do that, unless you have 3 DisplayPort adapters.

You can purchase a DisplayPort adapters for relatively cheaply, they can come in handy. I would suggest you utilize all your ports, plug one into HDMI, one into DVI, and one into a DisplayPort with an adapter.

In this case, I agree. DisplayPort in general is a better connection, however, in this context I believe he is asking for alternatives as DisplayPort is not common in budget monitors.

Hi guys, thanks for the help so far.

I am having trouble finding an IPS monitor under $150 (really would love to get one around $100) that I like with displayport.

I am curious to know if my GPU will allow me to connect any other connections (with ease).

I can link you all some monitors:

1. ACER R240HY : https://www.amazon.com/Acer-H277H-smidx-27-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B0148NNKTC/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&keywords=thin%20bezel%20monitor&qid=1462878763&ref_=as_li_ss_tl&sr=8-34&linkCode=sl1&tag=azonsite01-20&linkId=191389f2af3b379b36b0ca8016824a3a

2. Viewsonic VX2376 : https://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VX2376-SMHD-Screen-Led-Lit-Monitor/dp/B01GE9QWJI/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1467828174&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=viewsonic+monitor&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=azonsite01-20&linkId=4fe7229d997aa4d46b8033360297cabc

^^ This one comes with display port, not sure i like it as much tho

3. AOC12267FW : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CLZ047Q/?tag=linus21-20

etc.

There are plenty around this price range that I'm looking at.

I heard from previous poster that a "DVI" connection is necessary for me. However, I'm not sure if that would work.

Technically, could I do 1 x HDMI and 1 x DVI to get a dual monitor set up?
That would work, right?

But if I wanted a 3 monitor set up I'd have to go 1 x HDMI, 1 X DVI, 1 X Displayport or 3 x Displayport, etc. Right?
