Approximate Purchase Date: Within the next month

Budget Range: 1300-1600

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Pretty frequent gaming and movies

Parts Not Required: Mouse, Speakers, Keyboard

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg and Jet

Country: United States

Parts Preferences: I like Asus but I'm open to most brands

Overclocking: Undecided

UPDATE: I think I would like to overclock at some point. From what I'm reading I would need an MSI Mobo to overclock the i7 6700 processor. Should I return it for the 6700k?

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe but I probably won't need it.

Monitor Resolution: 4k

Additional Comments: I want to be able to run 4k smoothly, without having to worry about upgrading for a few years at least. I got pretty good deals on the parts that I've already purchased. I didn't plan on overclocking but I'm considering it more and more as I get closer to build day. That being said, I know that I can't overclock with the i7 6700. At the time of this posting I could still return it if need be. I'm up in the air at this point so any advice or tips would be appreciated. Other than that I need help picking a motherboard, a case, and do I have a big enough power supply unit?

Hmm, before doing anything else, I would change that power supply. It's not very good.

Also you said you bought a 6700, if you want to overclock you want a 6700K

Try to RMA your i7 6700, if you can't do it, then try with a motherboard that can overclock non-k cpus like Asrock, Msi or EVGA,
About your power supply you rather change that one , it just hits the limit line and would make force it to work always at max levels, try something between 650w and 850.
In any case you change your i7 6700 to a K-Type then check this one:
GIGABYTE GA Z170X UD5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128838&cm_re=z170-_-13-128-838-_-Product

If you want to stick to Asus then
ASUS Z170-E http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132691&cm_re=asus_z170-_-13-132-691-_-Product

Hey thanks for the response! I bought the power supply when I thought I was going to do a budget build but now that is not the case. I'll probably return it since multiple people have suggested a better one.

Is RMA hard to figure out? I didn't know that there were motherboards that would allow me to overclock a non-k processor. Thanks for the response!
