Could I Edit Video's Over Two Computers With a USB

So my question is that I have vegas pro on both my windows desktop and my macbook air. And sometimes I would like to edit on the go. So would buying a 128gb usb and putting my editing video's on the stick be able to accomplish this? I have heard that sometimes you would be to format the whole drive before the mac can use it. If you have any experience with this please let me know.

Macs are a pain in the ass since they don't support NTFS natively and FAT32 is not an option for most people.

If you have OSX 10.6.5+, then you are in luck, just format the drive to exFAT and it will work with Mac and Windows (7+)
