Hi,

I built my last PC 5 years ago and it wasn't booting. before I even diagnosed I just said f it - upgrade some parts. Turned into most.. then all parts... and out of impulse and ignorance I am not sure what I ended up with. I have indeed done some research, but as someone not too consistent with this I need help. like I didn't know MOBOs now are on DDR4 so I needed to get new memory :s.

Some parts are delivered, others on the way. But I honestly don't know what i've purchased and compatibility etc.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Could I do better for the money? total impulse.

I should have just came on here and looking at the stickied builds like I did 5 years ago.

I even overnighted the parts I have because I was super excited to get back into it. I had just moved and everything, had a day off. bummer I did such misinformed purchase. yay consumerism.

Thanks in advance ! greatly appreicated.

the cpu and mb are fine. in oct or after it newer kurby lake and 200 ser mb are dropping. (skylake upgraded cpu).
the nvidia gpu right now are costly as everyone want them. the 1070 line always been the best for cost vs performance. the evga is a good power supply as the ram that ordered. on your build pick up a storage hard drive. ssd have a set number of writes. for your daily download from web browser set those quick download and delete files to the storage drive. use the ssd for the os and main games and programs. with ssd to keep there speed dont fill the drive up to full. the cpu cooler on order is oversized. it made for someone overclocking the cpu. it keep your stock rig real cool. your old case has some limits
10.5" (Expansion Cards), 170mm (CPU HSF), 200mm (PSU)
gpu lenth cpu cooler hight and power supply size. if all the new parts are under those sizes you should be fine.
newer gaming case dont have fixed hard drive bays. look at the cosair r200 to see the bays for drives are on the bottom and there open spaces for long gpu.

damn, great answer. thank you. hat Kurby lake temptation though... but I already have this in my hand...

I've seen your bunny before reading some posts around hehe.

I found the CRYORIG H7 on Amazon. Smaller cooler - seems good.

That case you suggested it's still a Mid size one- but will be fine? I was concerned I needed a 'full' tower.
