Graphics are worse with new Hardware?

Hi everyone. So I inherited some PC hardware in exchange for some IT work, an i5-3470 and ASRock H77 Pro 4-M board. I installed them in an old HP desktop hat originally had an AMD based-board (forget which chipset 785?) with a Phenom II X4 945 and 8 GB 1333 MHz RAM. It had a Radeon HD5450 card (unbranded, HP OEM part), and after I got it up and running, updated all the MB drivers, graphics driver, etc. I noticed that the machine doesn't perform as good as it used to in games. More stuttering and choppiness. The Intel setup is a big performance upgrade, so why is it not working better? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics drivers with the optimized version for the card from AMD with no luck.

Am I missing something? Does it have to do with the card not being optimized for the Intel-based board? Bottlenecking?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply! I wasnt notified that someone replied. Thanks for the help! Yes it was a clean windows install. I didn't know the igpu was better than the discrete card? Maybe I'll take it out and see how games look without it and let you know. The old hardware worked better than the new hardware, which was strange. I was thinking that the new cpu would help a lot, but it seems like it made it worse. Anyway I'll try that.

Thanks again

if your using the old amd card ?

''Manually Select Your Driver''
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

then

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy3&os=Windows%207%20-%2064

I'd down load driver 13.12 ? maybe your using too new a driver

[ if there not ''broke'' ]??

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/previous?os=Windows%207%20-%2064

seems I tried to grab some older drivers to save and they did not work / fully install correct ??

good luck

one more thing be sure your motherboards bios is at least p1.30 to support that cpu? [looks like if you got a older board release ??

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H77%20Pro4-M/?cat=CPU

asrock only now shows p2.00

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H77%20Pro4-M/?cat=Download&os=BIOS

should be a white sticker on the motherboards bios chips with the shipped bios rev. on it if you never flashed it
