First off, I know that there are loads of posts like this one but this is my first time upgrading anything on my PC so I want to make sure I find the right upgrade. I have looked through many of these posts and have some sort of idea of what I want now. I'd like some recommendations from you guys though. My PC is mainly for gaming, and the game I will be playing most is Overwatch.

Here is a link to my current PC- http://goo.gl/fC2nbR

My first pick- https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GTX-Graphics-Cards-GV-N960WF2OC-4GD/dp/B00UMVCYTM
This card is at the bottom of my budget and seems like a great deal with a rebate. Will this card fit in my rig? Will it run Overwatch on High-Epic settings?

I guess my next pick would be AMD Radeon RX 480. I saw this card on the best GPUs of the month post on this site. They are saying it has a $225 price tag on it, but I have yet to find it for less than $300.

Ultimately I am planning on buying the gtx 960 windforce, unless you guys think that is a poor choice for what I currently have. Or is there possibly another model of the 960 I should be looking at in that 200-250 price range. Quick responses are greatly appreciated, I am planning on ordering something in the next few hours, just wanted some feedback. Thanks a lot!

If you are going to spend over $200, I would recommend the GTX 1060. It comes in a 3GB version for $199+ and a 6GB version for $249+

OR

I will also mention the RX 470 and RX 480 as they are similarly priced.

Since these cards were recently released, you may have trouble finding the one you want in stock. All of these have should have considerably better performance than the GTX 960.

Interesting. I think I want to stay with Nvidia, simply because I have heard that Blizzard games run a little better on those than AMD. The 1060 is going to work properly with my rig though? I only ask because they are recently released and the rest of my PC is a little older.

It will still perform significantly better than the GTX 960.

Overwatch is a CPU intense game, and interestingly this cancels out the advantage NVidia may have over AMD.....while look for comparisons between the RX cards and the 1060 I found this interesting video where Overwatch comes in very close on all the higher end cards https://youtu.be/s7t6lN2-bK8?t=298

Great video man! The AMD radeon RX 470 looks great, as does the GTX 1060! Is 500 watt psu enough for both of these cards?

Yes 500w is enough for either card.

You'll be able to overclock higher with the MSI dual-fan card, but the single-fan will work fine stock or mildly overclocked.

get the gtx 1060 sc you can get it for under 250. Do not go with the 960 that would be a huge waste of money. If you like amd better get the rx 480. I personally like the gtx 1060 and i am loving it.

If you have a small case you should go with the evga gtx 1060 sc if they have it if not you can get the regular. Its a mini card and its just as good as the dual fans.

can you link me the one you got? I think i am going with the 1060, just not sure which model I want yet.

How did you get it for $225? And the non-sc model has a standard cooler, whereas the SC has a much better cooler with copper heatpipes, just an observation. I believe EVGA just started doing that on the 1060's, because I had a EVGA GTX 750 Ti SC and still have a EVGA GTX 950 SC and they both have standard coolers.

I got it with a rebate, and a 25 dollar off promo code. Even without the discount though its still worth 250-260. My friend has the none sc one, and he likes it. It still runs cool.

Yea definitely worth $259, but I can only find it for about $295 right now. I've seen them availible twice for $259, but it only lasted a couple hours and I didn't have the money then.

Not worth buying that used when you can get a 1060 or a 480 brand new for same price

Sorry actually meant 200-250 CAD. New GTX 1060 is about 300 CAD.
