Asus X401A Suddenly Not Showing Wireless as An Option

A friend updated my boyfriend's laptop to Windows 10 a few months ago and suddenly his wireless stopped working today. I've tried Fn F2 to turn it on and off and it does nothing. There is no wireless card or device showing in Device Manager. I've tried restarting and updating and nothing. I can't enable wireless because it's not showing a wireless device. Any advice?

Did they download and run the Win 10 drivers from the laptop site?
