Freesync causing negative impact on GTA 5

I have this really odd problem with gta v. When Freesync is enabled, I get massive stuttering, mutrostutter, and horrible framerates. When freesync is disabled, the game works flawlessly. Anyone know the cause of this? My GPU is a Radeon R9 295X2, with an i7 4770. My drivers are up to date as well.

What FPS do you get without F-Sync? All it does is see to it that games running at sub 60FPS don't tear or stutter, making them smoother and the frame drops less impacting on the eyes.

60FPS most of the time.

Do you have V-Sync enabled in game? If so, turn it off and see if that helps.

V-sync is enabled. And when turned off, I get really bad screen tearing.

Okay so the problem was the fact that I had overclocked my monitor's refresh rate to 70hz. Which caused all those problems. Once I reverted it back to 60 I didn't see any of the problems I had However, I literally see no difference with freesync on and off. Anyway, thanks!
