Monitor Not Working

Every time I start up my computer, there will be no display. And then my monitor blinks repeatedly. Any suggestions?

Do you have a dedicated graphics card? Try using another port on that card to plug your monitor in or remove the card and try the on-board graphics, if the problem still persists, try another monitor, replace whatever is not working for you.

Also, another option is to use a different power supply for your monitor in the case that your monitor has an external power supply. (be sure you're using a correctly rated power supply to test it out though. AKA right voltage and VA rating)

This monitor is the only one i have, and it is already plugged in to an external power supply (a power strip). I changed the graphics into another slot and still nothing. I think i might need a new dvi.

And my monitor only has 2 ports, one vga and one dvi, but my graphics card will only take hdmi and dvi. In gonna try another dvi cable.

Try a different cable then, see if it helps.
