I am re-installing Windows 10 on an SSD.

I read that performing a full format on an SSD is not good for it. I would prefer to use a quick format.

Will a quick format be sufficient enough to remove a virus?

Solution
Thats not a virus. What they do is change settings etc in windows. Like disable services, disable logging errors etc

You could try to fix whatever they did. But first you have to find out what they changed

That is esoteric to me.

It is my mother's computer. She is 86 years old and was taken advantage of by hackers. She receive a message on her computer that it has a virus and call a number. She called the number and somehow they installed a program called LogMeIn that gave them remote access. I do not know if that is the extent of what they did.

That is good to know it is not a virus. How can I determine what they changed?
