Fastest practical boot configuration?

Hello!

So, just wondering: in terms of media that isn't obscenely expensive and readily available on the market, what is the best sort of configuration for those sweet lightning boot times?

The options I'm mulling:
- Premium SSD (recommendations?)
- PCI SSD (worthwhile?)
- RAID0 SSDs

If there are other options, please let me know, but if not, does anyone have some practical advice on what the best bang-for-the-buck option is?

I just put a PNY 1311 SSD in my wife's i5-2500 series, 4 year old laptop. Win 10 boots to the desktop in 10-15 sec. My new desktop build is an i5-6500, with a PNY 2211 SSD. Boot times are a little faster, maybe 8-12 sec range. My point is that win 10 and even a cheap SSD, is way better then the 60+ sec for a win 7 and HDD PC. The options you're looking at are just shaving off a few seconds. The standard for SSD's is the Samsung 850 EVO. Or go with any MLC SSD from a name brand company. I'm please with my PNY 2211 an saved about 20 -30 USD, compared to the Samsung drive.
