AOC 144hz DP to DVI-D

Does this work? My gf just gifted me AOC G2460PQU. It didnt come with a DP cable.

I have a 3monitor setup and one of the monitors used a DP to DVI-D cable. I read somewhere along the net that it should work. But its not. Am I missing something?

Also I have an R9 380 4GB. Should it handle 144hz?
