How to get HDTV resolution the same as laptop

I am struggling with getting my HDTV resolution too the same as that on my laptop, the TV size is too large and cannot see date/time or Windows start button. Please help with explanation to make both screens resolution usable. thank you

Hey everyone I had too find this Bl()dyanswer for myself.

right click graphics option change laptop resolution setting to suit large pixel acceptance as tv, on laptop screen then choose too maintain scaling for on right click panel fit digital tv, maintain display scaling.

this is not a permanent solution as it causes the laptop too lose a bit of focus, but if you are using display as tv, switch of monitor in sttings
