Acer Prebuilt Motherboard 12 Pin Upgrade

Hello everyone,
A friend of mine has a prebuilt Acer Veriton 6, and he now has discovered that his Mobo has the 12 Pin, which, IMO, sucks.
Now, question number one, what I wanted to ask you is, do you think it's safe to simply use an adaptor 24pin to 12pin? Or do you think it would be too dangerous to the component and it's better to change the Mobo as well?

Question number 2 is, does it have a Pci-E 3.0? I'll leave a photo under (don't mind the circle)
