How to make a smartphone mic work on pc?

So I was a dumb-ass and bought a cheap mic to go with my new pair of headphones that doesn't work on PC. I saw Windows in the name of the product, and completely forgot about Windows phones. Is there any way to make this mic work on my PC?

No, it is a standalone microphone.

Then what is the problem?
It has a 3.5mm round "headphone" plug on it right?? You just need to plug that into the pink audio port on the back.

I have. However, when I go into the mic properties in the settings and enable listening, nothing goes through. Probably something I should have included in the original post, my bad.

Have you turned up the volume on the mic and possible the dbm boost in windows settings?
Is there a volume knob (or power button) on the mic itself?

Volume and dbm is at max, not a sound from it other than static.

Is anything checked in Microphone Enhancements in widnows settings? If so then uncheck them and hit apply.

Absolutely nothing is checked.

Do you have microphone plugged into the correct port?

Also if you have Realtek manager software you may have to enable and setup mic in that program as well as windows.

Yes, I have it plugged into the correct port. I have also enabled it in Realtek and messed with the settings, but so far there is nothing. I also tested the mic on my phone and it worked fine there, so the mic definitely isn't broken.
