Hello! I just built my second build in a Thermaltake Element T. My question is 1: Should I place my heat sink fan toward the RAM or toward the exhaust? 2: My case has large open space for a side fan. I already have an input fan a top fan and an exhaust fan. Do I need a side fan? (not sure it would fit anyway) 3: If I do not, should I cover these holes and with what?

My build:
GA Z170 LGA 1151 Gaming 3
Cooler Master Hyper 212
I5 6600k
GTX 660 (soon to be replaced with GTX 1060)
16 GGB HyperX DDR4
EVGA SuperNOVA 650W

you would want to place your cpu fan next to the ram, pushing air through the cooler to the exhaust
a side fan usually keeps the gpu cooler but it's not mandatory and depending on your setup maybe even redundant

Bottom one intake
Front two intake

Top one or two exhaust
Back one exhaust

Should be more than enough, honestly, in many cases two intake and one back exhaust is enough, that is what I have, two 140mm Noctua 2000rpm intake blowing into the AIO water cooler for cpu and one 120mm 2000rpm noctua blowing out air,m works well, my fans run at ~1500, a bit loud but works great

Roger that. So any thoughts on shoring up the side? Would it not mess up the flow having a gaping hole on the side?
