I recently built a new gaming PC and I got an msi gtx 970. I'm starting to get tired of using a 60hz monitor. I've been researching on overclocking my monitor, but I can't find a simple answer to the risks of overclocking my monitor. I already ordered a dual link dvi cable, but like I said I can't find a simple answer about how I could potentially fry my monitor. My monitor is a Dell E2311h. This is a brand new monitor I received as a gift several years ago, but I'm not quite willing to invest a gaming monitro yet. The specs for my monitor:
5ms response time

TN panel

Supports up to 1620×1080p

Thx for the help:)

Solution
you can go and do it.
there is nothing "dangerous" in it.
Go with 5Hz steps until you find it unstable.
not every monitor can be overclocked (at least not practically). My Dell agrees to go to 64Hz at most :(
