Hi there,
I am building a PC for my parents and need to get a monitor for them, the best size is 27'' and i think that 1440p is the minimum res and that size (feel free to disagree). As a result, i was wondering if any of you have any suggestions for a monitor that could be well suited to casual PC usage such as email, facebook etc. As it is just for casual use, 60Hz, no gsync and speakers built in are a must, the one i thought of picking at the moment is the AOC Q2770PQU, thoughts?
Thanks!

for regular home use, >32" is usually when i would recommend 1440p.
if they have any problems with eyesite; 27" @ 1440p is going to mean much smaller default icons and text. though raising them via Control Panel & Settings will make them larger, it can also cause issues with some items not fitting/displaying on the screen correctly.
maybe take them over to a BestBuy and have them view a couple different size VS resolutions to see which they prefer.

for $3-500 less, a 1080p display could possibly be a better option.

Hi there,
Thanks for your concern, i believe as 1440p is the right option, as they usually sit rather close to the screen and scaling will not be an option as i will be running OSX on it. I would take them to some sort of store like that but the issue is where I live (UK Countryside) There is literally no where within around 50 miles that could offer that.
Thanks
