I know what 1080p looks like cause I make youtube gaming videos. but lately I have been looking at 1080p videos from all different kinds of big youtubers and even my own videos and seeing that it does NOT look like what the actual game looks like. it looks very pixelated and lower quality then 1080p (especially while moving)

Yes my screen resolution is set to 1080p and so are my settings in youtube. I am not too smart with technical terms when it comes to pixels and quality etc. so please keep answers on the simpler side.

YouTube compresses videos so that it requires less bandwidth to stream and requires less space to store. By increasing the resolution, you can increase the bit rate of the stream and get a higher quality picture (even if your resolution is less than that set on the player). Try setting the quality setting in YouTube to something like 1440p or 4K.

but most videos dont go above 1080p and my monitor should be able to display 1080p normally like any other. i dont think thats what is happening here because it used to be fine on this pc. and my connection dosnt seem to be the problem

Some channels (like Linus Tech Tips) upscale their video's through video editing software to take advantage of high bit rates at higher resolutions on YouTube, even if they are originally recorded in 1080p. This is one way to increase the quality of your uploads but that's about it.

i upgraded my graphics card a while ago from 750 ti 2gb then to a 960 4gb as most recent. i have all the drivers but maybe old drivers for other cards are making it look bad?
