can i run MSI RX 480 x gaming 8gb

Im looking to sell my GPU and change it with MSI RX480 8GB but im not sure can my PC run it properly so any advice is more then welcome.
PLEASE, JUST PLEASE DONT TRY TO SUGEST ME NVIDIA GOT IT ONCE AND NEVER EVER AGAIN

Your PC should have no problem with the RX 480.
And your CPU won't bottleneck the GPU.

As far as I know im confident it will but I ve heard about (burned) pci slots problems with rx 480 so im looking for other opinions tnx!

nah, forget the PCIe power overdraw. It was something Tom reported but nothing that caused any serious dmg.
Also, if you ask me, I'd go for the MSI 1060 as it costs pretty much the same as the 8GB 480 but yields better performance in most games. But that's just my 2 cents on current market.

Don't worry about burned pcie slots. It was a problem (or rather potential problem) with reference cards, not partners design like excellent MSI Gaming.

I loved my ex msi r9 380, fell in love with msi and amd,to be honest I`m into dx 12 titles and as benchmarks sugests rx 480 is a card to go ( in my opinion) with more benfits in upcoming games (bf 1 for ex)

You can't go wrong with either GTX1060 or rx480. You had bad experiences with Nvidia then choice is simple Enjoy your games!

As already mentioned, the PCI power draw issue only relates to the reference cards.....and then it was blown out of proportion. The rest of your specs look good, so I can't see any issue.

I recently added a RX 480 w/ my Sandy Bridge CPU (P67 MoBo) and it works like a charm. You have Haswell so I would assume you would be fine too. I saw massive games in gaming performance.

I smell cherry picking. Why else would you add BF: Hardline and AC: Unity to this list.....

So it perform better in a bunch of old games. I have had my RX 480 and have tested a few games. So GTA5 is 20% better or so on 1060, that is the difference (in my case) between 110 FPS (and I guess about 125-130 fps). But then I see the few games that RX 480 is better at. Its the newer ones that I run at 70-90 fps (meaning that the 1060 would drop below 60 on some of those games....)

It seems clear that the goal of the RX 480 was to make new games playable above 60 fps, while the goal of the 1060 was to make old games playable at 300 fps( as opposed to 250... but hey it looks impressive on a chart).

Reduce the salt, please. I just took a graph from a reddit post that I think is accurate. There will never be a clear winner between the two. That is why you need to think about what games you play and does it make a difference what card you get for those games.

I play battlefield and I got the 1060 so I can have constant 100fps. I am but one player.

Your claim the 1060 would drop below 60fps in games where the 480 renders 70-90 is very inaccurate. The best performing game for the 480 is DOOM and the difference between the 1060 and 480 is about 10-15% in favour of the 480. So if the 480 gets 90fps, the 1060 will get 80fps.

If you have other examples then please do share them with us.

that was not my point at all. My basic premise was I would rather my card perform better in games where the overall demands are higher. Both cards kill older games, 1060 kills them harder. Both cards handle new games at 1080p with ease with RX 480 having a slight edge.

In the end the cards are very similiar and for some it will come down to which games you prefer and which card does those games better, others it is just brand loyalty (nothing wrong with this, if a company consistent make you happy with their product, and the competition does not give you a compelling reason to change, why change?), or in my case it came down to performance per dollar. The cost savings in freesync versus g-sync + the slightly lower cost of the card just made it a better deal for me.
