my screen goes completley black and all i can see is the mouse also when ever I try to open Microsoft word or excel,etc but it

My screen goes completely black and all I can see is the mouse also when ever I try to open Microsoft word or excel,etc but it takes me about 20 minutes to sometimes an hour to register and open, when it does freezes and nothing. I've tried to reboot the system and check and tried to install or even update and an error code appears and nothing, closes out and the screen goes completely black and back to square one!
please help!

DELL MODEL S2340M
AS FOR PARTS I'M REALLY NOT SURE. WHERE CAN I FIND THAT INFORMATION?
SORRY I WASNT HELPFUL HERE..STILL LEARNING!
I WAS ABOUT TO SEND A SERVICE REQUEST WITH GEEK SQUAD.

Dell S2340M is a monitor...

I will wait till then, I assume PC is also a Dell given that service tag. It should have a model name somewhere.
