Hello. This is my first post here at Toms Hardware (i love these forums, they help so much!) I have a dilemma that I cant seem to figure out. I just bought the Asus Swift PG278Q monitor and an EVGA FTW GTX 1070. Everything is working fine when i set the monitor to 85hz. When I change the Refresh rate to 100hz, 120hz, or 144hz the screen starts flickering every .5 seconds until i change I click "no" to revert the change back to 85hz. Also, after this happens, sometimes (not all the time) i no longer have the option to change the refresh rate to 100, 120 or 144 ( the highest setting available to change to is 85hz. I'm using the stock Display port cable that came with the monitor (could the display cord be bad?) I cant seem to figure this out... it's very frustrating. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!

My setup is the following:
Asus Crosshair V Formula Z (i have latest bios, MB)
EVGA 750w PSU
DD3 16gb 1600Mhz
AMD FX-8350

Solution
I think i found the answer. I believe the cord that came with my monitor is not good enough for 1440p at 120 or 140hz. Just bought a new one on amazon. Will update when i get it.
