Hey everyone,
I'm stuck with a maximum budget of $210 and would like to stretch every last dollar out of it that I can. Currently, I have a stock HP Compaq dx2400 Microtower (Socket 775, E2180 Dual-Core 2GHz, 1GB Ram, Intel G31 Chipset Graphics) that I will be upgrading. I have 2 7200RPM Barracudas (80GB & 500GB), 300W PSU, and case with 1 fan (3 pin) that I will be using. The only thing that would get overclocked on this list is the iGPU of the a10-7860k since there is some headroom with CPU cooler. The rest of it will be completely stock since the overclocked iGPU won't create as much heat and voltage change that the other CPUs will create. Not only that but the Intel ones require special boards that are out of my price range and would stick me with an out of date BIOS.
Now, the builds that I have are 2 AMD and 2 Intel. After exhaustive research and pricing, I have eliminated a LOT of processors/motherboards from my list.
First, the AMD builds.
1.) A10-7860K 65W CPU (amazon.com, $104.99), Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3HP motherboard (Amazon.com, $35.99), G.SKILL Sniper 2x4GB DDR3 2400MHz (Newegg.com $39.99). Total: $180.97.
2.) AMD FX-4100 CPU (Amazon.com, $45.00), Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P (Newegg.com, $56.98), G.SKILL Sniper 2x4GB DDR3 2400MHz (Newegg.com, $39.99), MSI GeForce GT 730 1GB GDDR5 (Amazon.com, $50.99). Total: $192.96.
Now, my Intel builds.
3.) Intel i3-6100 3.7GHz (Walmart.com, $119.00), ECS H110M4-C23 (Newegg.com, $48.98), GeIL EVO FORZA DC 2x4GB DDR4 2133MHz (Newegg.com, 36.99). Total: $204.97.
4.) Intel Pentium G4400 3.3GHz (Newegg.com, $59.14), same motherboard, same ram, MSI GeForce GT 730 1GB GDDR5 (Amazon.com, $50.99). Total: $196.10.
Some prices are for used parts and all totals have shipping included.
Now, for what I will be using one of these 4 builds for, it's to play games like Skyrim (Legendary Edition), Oblivion (Game of the Year Edition), Broken Sword 4 & 5, Battlefield 3 & 4, Fallout 3 & 4, GTA 5, and Fable 3. I know that I won't get perfect results with these combos but then again, I really don't mind playing games at minimum settings as long as I can actually play them.
The hard question now, which build will give me the best experience with these games?

Well I would say option 3 is the best though you still would need to save up or buy a used GPU, while option 1 would alllow you to "game" better than 3 or 4 I don't think it worth it. Option 4 would allow you to game better than 3 right off the bat but basically you would be "throwing" the GPU/CPU unless you planing to build a media PC in the future and reuse the parts.

I agree with both CTurbo and ikaz here.
I'd personally go with option 3 and save up for a reasonably good graphics card like the RX 460 for $110 later down the line.
The Intel iGPU will still perform well, and the CPU will give you much better performance, it just isn't as strong as the AMD APU for frame rate.

The i3 it is then. I have to admit that this will be the first time ever running DDR4 ram and can't wait to see what performance it will give. Have a good night all and thanks for the advice.
