Looking for a cost effective monitor.

I'm looking to get a new monitor for 1080p gaming and I am looking for recommendations. I have 378 bucks max to spend ( 500 CAD ). I would prefer to spend less but if i gotta spend that much then no problem. To be specific im looking for 60 or 144Hz, Doesn't matter. 1080p, and 24 inch screen.

i5-4690k, Basic Windforce 970. My monitor is a phillips office monitor from around 2008 i managed to get for free and never upgraded.

That looks like a good one. Are there any other ones you know of? Im just trying to weigh my options here if there are any.

For 1080p 144hz that is the best value in my opinion.

Edit: Now if you want to consider an IPS panel that is something I haven't looked at, but puts a premium on the colors and viewing angles, takes away from response (input delay)

Make sure you use a Displayport or Dual-Link DVI cable for any 144hz monitor (they should come with one or the other)

Yeah that was my plan. It looks like the monitor comes with a display-port cable.
