Hello,

Currently I'm working on placing the panel out of a Acer D241H in a AIO DRN-STN gaming case. I've run into some diffeculties and was hoping you could help me out.

I'm able to place the panel in the case and the chip containing the logic of the panel, but I don't have any room left to fit the original power supply of the Acer monitor. I'm able to rewire the logic to draw power directly from the PC, but my panel contains CCFL background lighting and that's where my problems begin.

- Firstly, if I do not connect the background lighting my panel doesn't work at all. Somehow it detects that resistance is infinate.
- Secondly, I can't power the CCFL backlight directly from my PC.

I was thinking to convert my panel to LED background lighting, but then, how to fix my first problem? Do you have any suggestions for me? I included some pictures and links below clarify my problem.

Thank you in advance!

talk about a Frankenstein but then I did that by using 2 Samsung 19" monitors into 1 plus going from vga to dvi. how big is the power supply board dimension wise? how much space is free behind the screen before you touch a drive or a card? how did you mount the video controller to the screen or the case?

I havn't build my PC yet. I'm concentrating on the case first. This specific case is actually a case within a case. One containing the screen and some ventilators and one containing the PC internals. In the one containing the screen and the ventilators I have space to mount the video controller board of the Acer monitor, but not for the power board. This is why I want to draw power directly from the PC.

Do you have any suggestions on why my panel isn't working without the CCFL backlights connected?

Do you have project log?
