Computer freezes but mouse still works

I5 6600k
Samsung evo 850 ssd
Asus z170

First started yesterday.

The first 15 minutes everything is normal, then suddenly the application I have on at the time won't respond and then everything freezes apart from the mouse.

Haven't found the solution in other threads, And am getting desperate.

What application? All applications you open freeze?

did u overclock? if so could you try running at stock speeds and checking the stability of your opened apps?

I didn't overclock. And with "application i have on At the time " I mean that while using anything like Chrome or spotify.
I installed Windows 10 around 2 months ago on a brand new sdd.

Could be a bad drive however those evo's are very good. Check system in the event viewer and look for disk errors. Or download this.
