Can I do displayport from my computer to dvi-d to hdmi to monitor?

You can get a converter to connect displayport output on your computer to an HDMI monitor input. Why do you want to go through DVI-D? That part of the question makes no sense to me.

I had a DisplayPort-to-DVI-D Adapter sitting around and noticed it accepted a HDMI cable. Since my computer didn't have a HDMI input only a displayport input I thought I would try to connect it that way. But it won't work huh? I guess I have to get a displayport cable with an HDMI male on the other end? Thanks for the help
