Which cable should i use DVI-D or Displayport?

So my new 1080p 144hz monitor came with 2 cables a dual link DVI-D cable and a DisplayPort cable. Which one should i use?

Depends on what ports your graphics card has. I like display port just because the cable is smaller.

Mine has both a dual link DVI-D and DisplayPort port

You have both cables and both ports, you can try them and see if it makes any difference. DVI does not carry audio. Displayport can have audio, like HDMI.
