Hi all,

I have a BenQ XL2420T 120hz monitor that was running on my GTX 660ti pretty well. I recently upgraded to the GTX 1070 and because the DVI port was used by another monitor for it, I switched the DVI-D connection on my BenQ to HDMI since my card had only one DVI port (2 DPs, and 2 HDMI).

Now, I know that HDMI cables can't give you 120hz refresh rate. My question: if I purchased a DVI-D to Display Port adapter - would that solve the problem?

So looking at something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gofanco%C2%AE-Plated-DisplayPort-Adapter-Cable/dp/B00ODDQMTS/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1474677876&sr=8-5&keywords=dvi-d+to+displayport+adapter

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks, I figured it all out. I decided the easiest route was to buy a DVI to HDMI cable and feed that through the monitor that was taking up the DVI-D slot that isn't 120hz anyway. With that slot freed, I was able to just connect my BenQ up via DVI-D to my GTX 1070. The adapter was $12. (I only have 3 monitors, 2 60hz and my 120hz BenQ for gaming).
