Used GTX 970 vs GTX 1060 3GB

Hi all,

is it worth buying a new GTX 1060 3GB version for £180 or used GTX 970 for £100 pounds?

Pretty similar performance the price for the used 970 is a little high for my taste if you can get it for £90 then take the 970 for 1080p gaming

I'd recommend against the 3gb 1060. I'll keep repeating that even at 1080p enough games get close or go over the 3g vram point.

£100 is very good Imo. 390s and 970s still run for 180-200 on eBay easy.

A used 970 at a good price is a nice idea.

Was able to get it for £80 + £5 p&p.

I guess it was not worth it to pay an extra £100 for additional ~10/15 fps when I can do some light OC/tweak the options (reduce antialiasing/details) to push all the juice out from an old 970.

On a negative side, it's a blower type GPU, so there will be some noise.

Wow I'm amazed at that price. Don't be surprised if that's not a great overclocker for that money.

Just scrubbed eBay and not seeing any fir under 130£... You sure there is nothing wrong with it?

It better be working

The person who was selling it wanted £135 but I offered immediate payment for £100 and I also used £20 eBay voucher which was expiring tomorrow. I guess there are people who are not bothered negotiating, so I found one.
