Hello i recently bought a Palit GeForce GTX 1060 Dual 6GB gpu for my current pc, as i thought it would improve performance and allow me to play games such as gta 5 at a stable framerate, however the improvements made wasn't great, which i believe is mainly due to the fact that all components around it are too low spec as i bought the pc in early 2013. WIth that said as well as the fact that i have the money to do so i wish to build a new pc around the GTX 1060 i already have. With the price range i have i am wanting to be able to play all current games (such as witcher 3) as well as upcoming titles (Battlefield 1) at high settings. I play at 1920x1080 resolution.
After reading How to build a pc on the site i have put together a list of components that i think should work together

CPU: Intel Core i5 6600K 3.5GHz Quad Core (Socket 1151)=£236
Motherboard: ASUS Z170-K Intel Socket 1151 Motherboard =£117
Memory: HyperX FURY Black 16GB (2x 8GB) 2400MHz DDR4 RAM = £72
SSD: Samsung SM951 NVMe 256GB M.2 SSD - 2150MB/s=£115
PSU: Corsair RM650X 650W Power Supply 80 Plus Gold=£86
CPU fan: Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 CPU Cooler=£69
Case: NZXT S340 Gaming White Midi Tower Case
=£63
=£758 in total

Questions regarding my choices:
1.Will the SSD work with the motherboard?
2.Will everything fit in the case?
3. Is a 650w psu necessary? (the 550w version is only £2 cheaper)
4. I chose the SSD from the TH page on the best current SSD's, but is it worth it considering i could get an SSD (non PCIe) of similar storage for half the price? (HyperX FURY 2.5" 120GB SATA III SSD - 500MB/s, is it worth the extra money?)
5. Intel i5 6600k to i7 4790k 4.0GHz? how much improvement would this make?
6.Is there anything else that you would change?

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Thank you for the reply, you probably saved me some money here too. I think i will go for your build but with the i5 6600k instead of the 6500 just because i can spare the money and it looks like a significant performance increase as well. Also in comparison to the build abaday789 put together is the extra money being spent there making any big changes in terms of performance?
In terms of a cpu cooler i assume i need one? If so is the "Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (£32.49 @ Ebuyer) " that abaday789 suggested ok here?
Thanks again

The rule of thumb:
i5-6500 + stock cpu cooler + H170 mobo (My suggestion for gtx1060)
OR
i5-6600k + 3rd party cpu cooler + Z170 mobo.

i5-6600k could easily reach +4.4GHz w/ a good cpu cooler like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO and a mild good Z170 motherboard.
(just a little luck and a liitle work though).

This is why people buy the 6600k:
It is in fact £250 i5-6500@3.2GHz vs £370 i5-6600k@4.5GHz (cpu+mobo+cpu cooler price).

There is good value in i5-6500@3.2GHz for £250 (mobo+stock cpu cooler).
There is good value in i5-6600k@4.4GHz for £370 (mobo+3rd party cpu cooler).

I think you will see little difference in games though. The i5-6500 can deal w/ the GTX1060 all right.

I aimed to go for something similar to what you had already put together :) but filippi's build is just as suitable and good value. Your case/chassis quite often of personal choice in terms of looks and features etc. hence why I didn't change it for a cheaper alternative.

If going for the 6600K you will need a cooler, yes as it doesn't come with a stock cooler. The Hyper 212 Evo is a great value for money cooler IMO had one my self and found it worked like a charm for me when I did have it before I moved over to a AIO water cooler.

Thanks again for all your help :)
As there is only a £130 price difference between the 6500 with H170 mobo and the 6600k with Z170 mobo plus cpu cooler i think i would prefer to get this instead. Would you make any changes?

I like you got the Asus Z170-A because you could add another gpu next year:
Many DX12 games will enjoy great increase in performance w/ dual gpu setup (For instance GTX1060+GTX1080).
Since you will get a really strong cpu (i5-6600k@4.4GHz) the dual-gpu upgrade will be an easy upgrade for 2017/2018.
Sure you will need a strong psu then...
Some £70 psu like Antec TP-750C, Rosewill Capstone G750, XFX 750 TS Series would easily do the trick though. They are all quality parts so no worries.
