monitor keeps losing signal

so my monitor loses signal for various reasons such as closing programs, sticky keys, unplugging headphones out of computer. my monitor says hdmi 1 no signal then the monitor turns off and goes into power save mode. my computer is still running but monitor won't reconnect. I have to reset my computer for it to display again.

video card or onboard video? try your monitor on another computer even a friend's to see if it is a monitor issue or not. reconnect both ends of the monitor cable as maybe coming loose.
