Windows 10 Home edition

Made a mistake in a User account control area trying to share some files over my network to my Xbox and lost all administrator privileges, can't even open C drive.

New hardrive, just installed windows 10 so I have no system restore points other than the one just before installation.

Restarted in Safe Mode, PC said unable to load built in administrator account.

Tried to take ownership of my C: drive by clicking drive> properties>security. access denied; no admin privileges.

Tried properties>sharing access denied no admin privileges.

Tried to activate built in admin through cmd prompt access denied, no admin privileges.

Tried to run cmd prompt as admin, access denied.

Tried to make new admin user account, access denied no admin privileges.

Tried to edit registry to disable UAC, access denied no admin privileges.

Is there any way to restore administrator privileges without completely resetting windows 10 and losing my programs? I just spent 12hrs downloading World of Warcraft and don't really wanna do that again.

Thanks

is Wow on C drive? You can copy it to another location if need be: http://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/18300417075 - you can even reuse the folder after a fresh install

Since you can't access C, you can use this to move anything you need to: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/use-ubuntu-live-cd-to-backup-files-from-your-dead-windows-computer/

I would just reinstall win 10 again and make a local account right away (https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/instantanswers/5de907f1-f8ba-4fd9-a89d-efd23fee918c/create-a-local-user-account-in-windows-10) and use it instead of your admin account - can make it admin as well - so if anything like this happens again, you can login with a backup user and fix it.

Thanks for the reply. I have all files on another drive I was upgrading to a new pc just wanted to make sure I needed to reinstall before transferring the files all over again.

A local account is a good idea thanks for all the links Colif
