Hi Guys,

I've had my pc for a year and still the same issue remains. While gaming the pc freezes, and i can't do anything anymore, the screen stays locked and i have to do a hard reboot.

Or the screen freezes for a couple of seconds, then reboots.
My temps are fine, both for gpu and cpu never exceeding 70 degrees.
It can happen after 5 mins or 2-3 hours, with any game, dying light, witcher 3, division, mad max, shadows of mordor, all crashed at random points, etc.
So i sent the pc back to the shop, they tested for more then a week now, haven't had a crash yet. They ran some benchmarks, played wither and division at ultra settings

1440p 144hz, all same as me, no crash.... I am clueless at this point.

So they asked me to also send my monitor, dells 2716dg, to test with that as well.

The stranger thing is, i Have a second windows 7 pc hooked up to the same monitor, where i recently upgraded the gpu to a 1070, and that one doesn't crash either.

In the past they have already replaced the psu and motherboard, that didn't help. They say they tested the ram, no issues there.

I really, really need help here, i'm at my wits end.

This is my setup

Althought you have a veeery good PSU something inside me is crying faulting voltages?

Btw: Why the hell you are using a nuclear reactor to power a mildy (at worst) power hungry PC?, you dont need more than 500w for that configuration, not to talk of 1200w....

Humm, nice point... the power outlet of both pc's and the monitor are grounded?

In one plug i Have a surge protector where my one pc is in, that's not crashing,as well as my boxes for sound and the printer.
The second plug has my monitor plugged in.
The last plug has the crashing computer in. I tried changing the pc to another plug , crashed as well.
I don't remember if i have ever plugged the pc in the surge protector box though.

I live in a newly built home with all new electricity, so aren't the plugs naturally proteted from surges then anyway?

I know, it's overkill, but at first i had 980ti's in sli on the system, still overkill i know, but then i switched to one card thinking that was the problem.. it wasn't. Then i thought it was the one card that was faulty, wrong again. I installed the 1080, 3 hours later mad max crashed out of the blue.

BTW, the shop plugged my pc in a thing that wasn't grounded for a test, it didn't crash either.

Also, faulty voltages you say, shouldn't it crash at the repair shop as well then? They had it for over a week now.

anyone got another possible cause, plz? I really want this fixed. If the pc just returns to me again without any changes, it'll freeze again, that's for sure.
Thx, guys!

If i may ask, why? Seeing as the gpu has been replaced. I just followed the store playing my games at my settings thriugh skype screen sharing. It did not crash yet. I did jowever see something strange, in hwmonitor or cpu-z, the vcore for the cpu was showing a max of 1.418 , which is way too high for safe everyday use. At my place its set to auto as well in the bios, but i don't think it has ever gone higher then 1.370. If it needs the 1.41 in some occasions but for some reason isn getting it when i set it to auto, that can be the reason its crashing at my place, right?

If replacing the video card fixed things, fine, you did not select the thread as closed so I was giving you something to test to see if the issue is coming from the card or something else.
