why my two WD HARDRIVES CANT WORK AT SAME TIME?

already saw others thread, didnt work for me...I have 2 wd (my book) but only one at the time show up, is this a hp problem or wd?. what I could do?.... drive doesnt show up in disk manager, meaning that only one show up at the time, so one wotk when the other is not connected .

Are you talking about the dual-HDD MyBook? Afaik those run the HDDs in RAID 1.

not, I have two regular WD self powered hardrives (4 terra each) both of them work properly, but if I plug them both together, only one show up, I dont know what you mean with raid 1

Try different SATA ports. Also are you powering them from the same PSU cable?

I am sorry, I forgot to say that I am talking about external hard drive, so they are completely separated. using usb ports

Try using front USB for one drive and rear for the other. Also check if this happens with both USB 3.0 ports and USB 2.0.

great that is working thank you so much, I dont know if putting them in usb 3.0 or having one in the rear and other in thr front.....any way i did both and now work ....thank you again MrKagouris
