Hello,
I've ran into a problem with my DP configuration:

When my monitor is connected via DP cable - PC wont start. when i unplugg it - it starts and resets bios values.
Works fine on HDMI port/cable
When im using HDMI and connect the DP cable when the PC is running I can connect via DP and have stable image. When i restart - its ok, but when i power off -same problem appears.

Tried 3 different DP cables (3m long). Worked fine on 2m DP cable. Changed mounting arm 2m is too short :) Preffer the DP connection for 100Hz refresh rate (not possible on HDMI with this monitor)

Graphics: gtx1080
Monitor PG348Q
Mobo Z87I-Pro
All Asus. Checked BIOS settings on default/changed etc.

No idea what else to check. Any ideas welcome :)

Solution
Are the cables tested VESA-certified? Crappy DP cables can cause an amazing variety of issues.

The max length per spec is 3M so length-wise you should be fine.
