Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to look at my problem. I have started encountering a strange issue with my monitors and do not know what component is at fault.

I recently had to move my 4790k into a MSI Gaming 5 (latest bios build) and upgraded from a GTX 970 to a 1080. I have a Dell G-sync monitor running at 1440 and 144z refresh rate. The issue happens with G-sync enabled and disabled. I have compliant cables and have used different ones to try to see if a faulty DP cable was to blame but not luck.

Here is a video taken from my phone that shows the monitor flash or glitch.

Video: https://vid.me/c7KK#1s

It happens randomly for a bit then it can go away for hours. The flashing only happens in the OS when I am in the bios there is no such flashing.

Notice I am running a benchmark but the flashing happens randomly does not have to be time under load.

I have already put in for a refund of the GTX 1080. I have a Zotac amp extreme. It boosts to 2075 with no overclocking. I think maybe the card is not stable or its defective.

I have also had strange things happening with the outputs on my GTX 1080. My second monitor only works now with HDMI...
Any ideas?

No, I am able to use the computer. The latest drivers work and I can play games and run benchmarks with no crash.

Thanks. I think its a defective Zotac card. We will see. I have a ASUS 1080 coming in today to swap out. If it fixes the problem I will edit and spread the word that these cards suck.
