I'm deep into planning for my new desktop. Replacing a 5 year old machine. This is primarily a development machine, including running several VMs. However, I may add a high-end Nvidia GPU early next year so that I can also do VR development. Any known issues/concerns with the parts below?

Maybe spend some of that pricey SSD storage funds on more RAM because 8GB is limiting especially for video rendering.

EDIT: I didn't see the X4 at the end. Nevermind the RAM part.

Looks good! That motherboard is a little pricey. I would get 2x16GB RAM instead of 4x8GB.

I'm not sure the 950 Pro is worth 2x the price of the 850 Evo of the same size.

Thanks.
There aren't too many good options for C236 motherboards. This one got five 5-star reviews.
The boot drive I'm eying is the new 960 EVO, which is supposedly priced at $250 for 500G and $130 for 250G. Supposedly a big step up tech-wise. And I tend to keep my machines for 4+ years, which leans me towards this.
