My build is a i5 4670k, Asus Z97 Pro Gamer motherboard, 16GB Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3 1866 and my GPU is a Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 1060 G1 6GB gaming.

What I would like to know is my processor still good for gaming or will it be worth while spending some extra cash on upgrading to a 6600 i5 and 1151 motherboard and DDR4 ram or will my present set up be okay for the next few years or so?.

Apart from my GPU my existing set up is 18 months old.

The screen resolution on my monitor is 1920x1080 and is 60hz.

Many thanks

An i5 4670k with an overclock would out perfom a i5 6600 and at stock you may get a frame or 2 extra with the 6600. So no that is absolutely not worth it in any way. DDR4 ram isn't going to help much in gaming either. I would wait at least a few years to upgrade the cpu. Even cpus like the i5 2500 and i5 3570 are still adequate for gaming.

Many thanks for your replies, so I am good to go as I am for a few years at least - is there any danger of my 1060 bottlenecking my 4670k (by the way I have not overclocked my CPU and runs at stock speeds)?, I have only just installed my new 1060 but will it be worth doing a fresh installation of Windows 10 as I have had some poor frame rates in GTA V and Project Cars in Very High/Ultra Settings?.

the gpu is supposed to be the bottleneck as it's the most expensive part( in most cases(no pun intended)).
