do you mean designing computer components? or assembling computers at a store?

if designing - id imagine you would need a 4 yr computer degree or some sort from a college and then find a job at intel/amd or some of the computer companies.

if you mean assembling - probably 14 - 16 depending on your state and then you can go see if a local best buy/microcenter/ fry's hardware is hiring
as old as u can understand newer technology and support the same...
point being, u need to understand old and new hardwares/terminologies and their differences/improvements...not inside out, but minimally atleast...
rest depends on u, how much u can improve on that...

Designing computer components will definitely need a degree to be able to understand the system you gonna design. While computer assembling would only require a good experience...
