Hey guy's...

Are we looking at graphene chips in the near future ???

Please share your thoughts and excuse my ignorance but doesn't this solve the problem of Moore's law ???
Interested to hear what yis think... Check this out:

http://www.engineering.com/ElectronicsDesign/Electronic...

"Under optimum conditions, a graphene transistor can change the current in a circuit 10,000 times with a gate voltage swing of only 150 millivolts."

New type of graphene-based transistor will increase the clock speed of processors

"While The Idea Of A 1000 GHz Processor Still remains to be bleak, A lot of people, Including tech experts, Believe that such will be a reality with the help of Graphene technology."

An what about this Silicene Processors ?

Graphene is a possible replacement for Silicon based electronics but it is nowhere ready for the consumer market. It's a very very expensive material to use, which is why it's only in million dollar military hardware and has been for some time.

And what about this "Silicene" it's a lot cheaper and cheaper to produce, Anybody any thoughts or info on this ?

Or any other materials being experimented with for that matter, what other alternatives are there to silicone ?

New graphene production technique is 100x cheaper than other methods.

If the cost of graphene production comes down we will have graphene processors a lot sooner.

Maybe, maybe not. It's hard to say. Silicon manufacturing has come a long way, and there may yet be more challenges with graphene that we haven't run into yet. We just won't know until we get there.
