Replace grinding PSU fan with case fan

Greetings,

Recently my PSU fan started grinding/rattling. I don't want to replace the whole PSU, and it is a few months out of warranty.

I looked inside, and found the fan (a 120mm) connected via a 2pin connector. Would it be prudent to purchase a 120mm case fan with a 2pin connector and fit it into the PSU?

Thry do not make case fans with 2 pin connectors they are 3pin or 4 pin


And in highly unreccomed to even open your psu let alone change components such as a fan

The fact that the fan has failed suggest its not a good quality unit and ita time for a new psu

I generally do NOT recommend users who are not experienced open a power supply. Some parts of the unit can hold power after unplugging the unit.

A user with experience should have no issues swapping a fan(and replacing the plug on the fan if required.)
